Tess's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Tess.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Self
Location: North Dakota, USA
Issue: Mental Health

What’s going on? I am a Christian Survivor of extensive childhood abuse of every kind. I'm 33 years-old now, and I'm feeling so empty. Not only am I working on my healing journey, but I'm also having the mental and physical health issues on top of it. I just need hope, encouragement, prayers, and anything uplifting. I would love anything Christian related, but even if you're not a Christian, I welcome the encouragement and happy mail.

What do you love most about this girl? My faith is my greatest asset. I try my best to always be there for others and to reach out in love- even when I've been treated with such cruelty. I try to always smile and bring joy and compassion.

P.S. I am in love with cats and My Hero Academia (namely Aizawa and Toshinori's characters because of how it impacted me during my healing journey).

Amanda's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Amanda.

Age: 20-something
Requested by: Self
Location: Florida, USA
Issue: Family / Faith

What’s going on? My name is Amanda! I need prayers for healing! (emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc) My husband and I are getting an annulment. He left me in May. We agreed that the Lord never wanted us together, and that we were headed towards a divorce. However, we told one another that we wouldn't do anything in our own power. If the Lord didn't want us together, He would do something about it to free us. My husband ended up walking away from me a couple of months later. I had no job at the time and no food. I am now on the right track, but I have so much shame. I am worried that I will never be able to marry again because the Bible talks heavily about divorce. I want to honor God and only wants what He has for me. I need encouragement. I am fighting for my life right now. I desire a godly husband who will love me.

I have no idea what career to pursue. Part of me believes I should become a teacher. The other part of me is drawn to youth ministry and wanting to work at a summer camp as a full-time staff member. I have no idea what the Lord wants me to do. I need tips on what to do and where to start. I need encouragement that my situation will turn around. I feel hopeless and need to know that this isn't the end for me. I need prayer for a godly husband who will not lead me astray. I also need prayer that I will love Jesus with all of my heart. I know He is trustworthy, but I need Him to help me see that!

What do you love most about this girl? I want to follow Jesus! I want to love those around me. I want to help youth by teaching them about their identity in Christ! I also love making cards for people and want to use that gift to bless others.

P.S. I appreciate each one of you! Thank you so much! :)

Libby's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Libby.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Best Friend
Location: Wisconsin, USA
Issue: Divorce

What’s going on? Libby was with her ex-husband for 10 years and married privately, while planning their wedding. During the time they were planning the wedding, she found out he was not being faithful to her after they married. She tried everything to bring them back together and he was unwilling to attend therapy or actively participate in their relationship. He (and the other individual) gaslit her and dragged her along for months. She filed for divorce and he tried to get her to stay. She's still in therapy helping her to heal and has also found a new relationship with a wonderful man. She has come so far in the last year, I am beyond proud, however he keeps popping up causing old wounds to re-open.

What do you love most about this girl? She is the most caring person I know. She's a NICU nurse and literally saves lives. Not only is she caring, she's incredibly strong both mentally & physically. She just ran her first marathon (she said she would not let her divorce be the hardest thing she's overcome, so she signed up for a marathon and DID IT). She's a boxer and former college hockey player (that's how we met). She's a girls girl and will drop everything for her girl gang. She's one of a kind - beautiful inside and out. I am hoping these letters are a reminder for her of how loved & supported she truly is.

P.S. I am a letter writer as part of The Letter Project and know how much this means. I cannot thank each of you enough for your time in support of Libby.

Holly's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Holly.

Age: 20-something
Requested by: Self
Location: South Carolina, USA
Issue: Self-Confidence

What’s going on? I am a 24 year old single teacher. I have never had a romantic experience and I am extremely scared that I will never find someone. I don't have very many friends and I am not outgoing at all. I am embarrassed about my weight and I feel like that is why no one has ever been interested in me. It is very discouraging to see a lot people that I went to school with getting married and having families. I feel like I only connect with fictional characters. I cannot get out of my own head.

What do you love most about this girl? I am caring and compassionate. As a teacher, I am a giver and it is very hard for me to accept compliments or help.

P.S. I am a big reader and I love to write!

Sydney's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Sydney.

Age: 20-something
Requested by: Best Friend
Location: Ohio, USA
Issue: Mental Health

What’s going on? Sydney has been struggling with her mental health for years and with her self confidence. She has been through some really tough times throughout her life. She does not feel like she is seen and feels as if she is not enough. I want her to realize that she is so much more than her anxiety, depression, and what other people think of her.

What do you love most about this girl? Sydney has so many qualities that I love! Not only is she the most selfless person I know, but she is also one of the funniest. Whenever I am with her she makes me laugh and makes me feel seen. She is the most beautiful person and has the best intentions. She never fails to hype other people up and to make them feel loved. Sydney is one of the most compassionate and loving people I have ever met. She is just an amazing human that brings light everywhere she goes. I can go on and on about all the qualities Sydney has, but there is not enough time!

Davidia's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Davidia.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Best Friend
Location: New York, USA
Issue: Faith

What’s going on? She’s a great 7th grade teacher for special needs in a public school. For her to financially become independent, save money, and be debt free (pay off credit cards) is a goal. Taking care of her student needs, family needs, friends needs, sisters & brother in Christ needs, ministry needs, and everyone’s needs is a heavy burden to carry not including one’s own needs. She does everything gracefully, however, I can see her level of stress as her friend while others can interrupt the smile she puts on.

What do you love most about this girl? I love that this girl never boats, comments, or ever states what she does for others. She has a heart of gold. Everything she does is from the kindness and sincerity of her heart, it’s so pure & genuine. She’s a very forgiving person with a beautiful gentle spirit.

P.S. I love her child-like demeanor, personality, and attitude, others have noticied it too. She’s fun to be around and I’m blessed to call her my friend.

Jessica's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Jessica.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Sister
Location: Illinois, USA
Issue: Family

What’s going on? My sister Jessica is 33 years old. She has been estranged from my mother and I for nearly 4 years. Our father passed away 10 years ago, and I've seen her struggle to get herself on her feet ever since. Over the years, she's battled with drug abuse and addiction, which has only gotten worse since the pandemic. She's done some very hurtful things to people closest to her just to get by. Since our last falling out, we haven't spoken a word to each other and she's continued to block my mom out of her life too, preventing us from reuniting as a family. I am 3 years younger than her, and though we've always had our differences, I miss having my only sister in my life. I only wish the best for her and want her to succeed and to just be happy.

Recently (in November), she had a very bad scooter accident that left her with a broken jaw, broken arm and a missing tooth. I am extremely worried for her physical and mental wellbeing. I fear she might fall into a deeper struggle with drug abuse and addiction with all of the pain she's experiencing. I feel unable to talk to her, as she still has me blocked on social media and lives in another state. I want her to know that she always has a support system back home where her family is, that we love her so much and miss her tremendously.

What do you love most about this girl? My sister is one of the most creative people I know. I've always looked up to her for her cool sense of style, music, and overall taste in art and culture. She has a vibrant imagination and so many creative hobbies. She loves dance, cooking, drawing and painting and so many other art mediums that her and I have bonded doing together. She has a beautiful singing voice too. She's always been driven by passion and a desire for making beautiful things. She is beautiful. She's also intelligent, witty, and has a charming sense of humor. Any nostalgic Spongebob reference will definitely hit home for her.
