What’s going on? My mother, my best friend for many years, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in November 2025. A few months later my father passed away unexpectedly. I feel like I am grieving two losses, one for my father, and a continual grieving for a mother that will eventually not know who I am. What’s going on? I am writing letters to encourage and remind myself that I am important. I have nominated others for letters in the past. I have helped in so many different ways others over the years that I do and don't know unwarrantedly neglecting myself in the process. I feel stagnant with the desire to move forward with personal goals like weight loss for health reasons as I'm obese with pre-diabetes, yet I don't even though I could. Like in Matthew 22: 37-39 (NIV) "Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself." The category is mental health as I need to renew my thoughts to focus + love on God & myself and take on the Child of God identity that my creator (God) has given me.

What do you love most about this girl? I love to travel internationally and domestically with others. I would like my own car one day to plan a road trip as I have my driver's license. I am culturally sensitive, very patient, compassionate, merciful, and meek. My close loved ones continually tell me over the years to describe me.

What’s going on? She has lung cancer and just got surgery to get part of one of her lungs removed. The surgery went well, but it will be a long recovery (6+ weeks). She is an incredibly hardworking person and is very determined, but I think she could use some encouragement. In particular, being in pain and uncomfortable and having to be more reliant on other people to take care of her when she's often been the one to help others.

What do you love most about this girl? She is deeply involved in her community, and does a lot of service through her church. She's someone who has the "gift of gab" and is very much a social facilitator. She reads more than anyone I know (usually 5-6+ books a week - though she may not be reading as much while she's recovering) and has never stopped learning. Her life has not always been easy, but she has been resilient, never becoming bitter or losing her sense of humor, and never stopped trying to help others.

P.S. I would love for her to receive letters! She's done so much for so many other people throughout her life; I can't think of anyone who is more deserving.

What’s going on? Vicki is so hardworking in her career but has had to really work to get to where she is. She is successful in her role but that is because she works 16 hours to everyone else's 8. She does this because she doesn't see the 'amazingness' of what she does and it always self doubting. Another thing is that is repeatedly in the receiving end of low level bullying (and sometimes not low level). I think this can sometimes be because she will always go the extra mile and others don't like this. It's not done in a smarmy way, she genuinely wants to help others. I want Vicki to see the wonderful person she is which might allow her to have the confidence to slow down and know she is good enough. She also needs to know more generally that she is such a wonderful person. Vicki is generally very self critical.

What do you love most about this girl? Vicki is creative, caring, kind and compassionate. She's also a lot of fun. She's the best friend you could ever wish for!

What’s going on? I'm writing to request letters for myself as I'm in a particularly difficult time in my life. For almost five years now, I've been experiencing declining health and I kept looking for answers as to what was happening to me. In the last sixth months, I finally got some and ended up with being diagnosed with an endocrine disease called Cushing's. I have a brain tumour which is causing this disease. I'm very very ill. I'm waiting for treatment, hoping for brain surgery this year.

What do you love most about this girl? What I love about myself is my kindness, my ability to "be" with people and hold space for them, with everything and anything that's going on in their lives. I've been told I'm very soft hearted and kind/affectionate and loving.

What’s going on? She went through so much. After almost dying at the premature birth of her son in 2012, the father of the child started to abuse her. Luckily she managed to escape but had to face a new reality as an immigrant single mom of a child that needs special care. I don't know how she found the strength to build her own company(a cafe), but she gave up because her son had to spend months in the hospital, because of his chronic sickness. He lost a lot of school time and the authorities completely misjudged her case and took her son away from her into a children's home where she had to fight for five years to get him out. A year ago she finally won that battle and they were reunited. So when the battle was over and even got written proof that her boy was taken away unlawfully, she developed a complex PTSD and was left completely alone raising her now teenage son. 

What do you love most about this girl? While going through all of this, she still kept her humor, still helped others in need, and didn't lose hope. Her and her son have an incredible bond. She is and always was a very engaged mother, friend, daughter and sister. Even in the worst situations she seems to see smth positive without minimizing the pain and hardship. I love how she turned her closest friends to their support system, so her son has her best friend and godfather as constant positive male figures in his life.

P.S. I hate to see such a loving and creative woman struggling with poverty and a severe PTSD due to what has been done to her and her son. She doesn't have the strength at the moment to start a legal case against what happened to them. She lost her ability to work, her strength to stand up against the authorities, her social status and her mental health. All I wish for her is not to pressure herself and take the needed time to rebuild herself. I really believe she will make a difference to other women in the future once she heals from her past 14 years. I hope to find for her words of comfort from a global sisterhood to strengthen her in that dark fight against PTSD from systemic violence.

What’s going on? Mira is my beloved older sister. Though she is older, she only just learned how to read — and that alone speaks volumes about her determination. Mira has a condition called Feingold Syndrome and is severely handicapped- body and mental. When she was born, doctors said she would not make it past the age of three. She is now 16, and she fought every single day to get here. She can barely walk, but she still stands up every morning and trains with her walking aid — because that is just who she is. She is also deaf and mute, which would mean I could sign the letters to her myself, so that she can feel every single word. In May, we found out that her one remaining kidney is no longer functioning well. And yet, she keeps going. Mira has never received a letter. She deserves to be seen, to be celebrated, to know that people she has never met are thinking of her and rooting for her. Please help me show her that the world is full of kindness.

What do you love most about this girl? She is the strongest person I have ever known. She fought like a warrior through every single operation, survived every one of them, and rolled herself through hospital corridors in pain — in her blue wheelchair with dolphins on it, because she wanted the one the boys had, not the princess one. That is Mira.

She loves dogs more than almost anything in this world — probably more than she loves me, and I say that with the biggest smile. She loves animals, paintings, and nature in all its forms.

She makes me want to live. She is my sunshine.

What’s going on? I turned 20 on June 13th, and I need help with finding self-confidence, to help me know I’m not alone, and to find ways I can make myself feel better especially on my birthday when usually all of my friends are gone over the summer- for some reason the more I get older, it’s not been the same as when I was younger obviously, but I want to know how I can maybe feel less sad. Even though I know I’m loved and not alone, seeing most of my friends find someone to love and be in a relationship makes me feel like for me it will always be near impossible, especially if even though I thought I found someone good, it turns into too many situationships to count. I have lots of life ahead but always have felt more mature for my age and an old soul who just wants something genuine and real, with not a lot of guys to relate to my age and it sucks. It just feels like a lost cause already, and I love seeing others happy but always wonder if I’ll ever find my own in love without getting too caught up and blinded by who I hope someone is like, versus what they actually are like and not settling for less.

What do you love most about this girl? Some qualities I try to let shine more within myself, my kindness, compassion, generosity, empathy, loyalty, my sparkling energy and personality, always someone people can talk to, appreciating the small things in life, being able to know what i want to do in my future at this age, knowing my standards, my confidence i feel when with my friends and family, etc.

P.S. I can never tell if I’m just picky or have too high of standards, or if there hasn’t been anyone I’ve met that has met what I’ve always been looking for, but I just don’t know why dating in this generation or if it’s just Arizona that has been so challenging. It makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong even though it’s never been my fault, I just get worried my life won’t be what I’ve dreamed of as a little girl and it’s scary. Dating advice is appreciated, book recommendations, honestly open to anything for how long I’ve been working on myself now. What I always tell my friends and myself is that fact that I know I don’t need anyone, it just would be nice to have someone to do life with and I think that sentence makes a huge difference.
