Mariana's Writing Team - March 2026

Write to Mariana.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Friend
Location: Texas, USA
Issue: Grief

What’s going on? Mariana lost a very close friend of hers, Allie, to suicide on Jan 2 and is struggling with extreme grief. She is feeling the guilt of worrying about not being a better friend (even though she is a wonderful friend). Mariana has expressed feeling heartbroken and was spending a lot of time with Allie; so much that this loss comes as an extreme shock as there were no warning signs and they had numerous business and travel plans together. I have known Mariana over 10 years and I have never seen my friend with such feelings of loss, low self confidence, questioning herself and the world around her. Allie was a lover of hand-written letters and I thought this would be a good way to bring her back to the loving part of life; where even strangers hold you tenderly in their hearts.

What do you love most about this girl? Mariana is one of the most responsible people I know and always tries to guide me in the right direction in life. She has always been a confident person her best qualities stem from that security in herself. She is an artist making beautiful paper mache pieces that bring beauty to the world and she watches over her loved ones like a hawk.

She is known for being a fashionista and while her love of vintage fashion is a triggering thing right now due to her business negotiations with Allie and their shared love of vintage- I hope that one day she can look at her wardrobe with passion again instead of grief. She’s adventurous and fun and very light hearted and happy individual who enjoys the finer things in life and has a delicate and refined taste in art, music, food, and beyond. She has a 70s style persona to her and has hopes of adopting a little cat or dog. She views the world with child-like wonder while being a powerhouse of a person.

Write your letter and get it in the mail within one week to The Letter Project at P.O. Box 218, Kingsville, MO 64061. We’ll take it from there! You can place multiple letters in one envelope, as long as each letter/card clearly identifies the letter recipient.

Maya's Writing Team - March 2026

Write to Maya.

Age: 40-something
Requested by: Friend
Location: Massachusetts, USA
Issue: Health

What’s going on? My friend is the loveliest of people. She has devoted her life caring for others in their times of need in big and small ways, always looking out for friends, family, and community. But she has now been sick for several years now and could really use a boost of warm-hearted community support to help remind her of other good, caring people. No religious sentiments, please. Letters can be addressed to "Dear Friend" (or equivalent).

What do you love most about this girl? My friend embodies kindness. She has helped shelter homeless folks, lovingly cared for foster children, acted as surrogate family for those whose parents weren't able, and helped support local schools. If others need her, she has been there. But the COVID period and beyond were deeply isolating, especially due to her elongated illness and resultingly, the necessity that she step back from public life, and she feels forgotten by folks she cared for with such attention and selflessness.

P.S. Thank you for all you do! My friend, although outwardly so generous, is an introvert at heart (humble) and would not feel comfortable with sharing any identifying information in connection with her story-- although we know many folks are experiencing it too. In deep appreciation for all you do.

Write your letter and get it in the mail within one week to The Letter Project at P.O. Box 218, Kingsville, MO 64061. We’ll take it from there! You can place multiple letters in one envelope, as long as each letter/card clearly identifies the letter recipient.

Prisha's Writing Team - March 2026

Write to Prisha.

Age: Teenager (16-20)
Requested by: Mother
Location: Kansas, USA
Issue: Mental Health

What’s going on? Life has been tough for her lately. She struggles with anxiety and finds herself constantly overwhelmed by school and other activities. She has recently gotten off anti-depressants so she's having trouble with withdrawal.

What do you love most about this girl? She's so smart and funny and has the prettiest smile. She knows how to make people laugh no matter what she is going through. She's the biggest Harry Potter fan so I know some references would make her day!

P.S. I don't want her to feel self-concious about these letters making her feel like she was needing them. Could you make them seem like she's getting told something positive about herself rather than referencing her mental health struggles? (From TLP: let’s uplift sweet Prisha!)

Mika's Writing Team - January 2026

Write to Mika.

Age: 20-something
Requested by: Self
Location: California, USA
Issue: Family (*Abuse)

What’s going on? My mother has emotional and physical abused me. She's beaten me, abandoned me to relatives and told me not to tell anyone if I kill myself. I've tried very hard to repair our relationship but this year, she told me she cannot be a mother to me & blocked me on Facebook. This was my first Christmas without my mother, father, and sister. I'm going to therapy but there's this empty feeling that I'm not sure I can replace. Christmas is my favorite holiday, not because of the presents, but because it's the only time my family feels complete.

What do you love most about this girl? I love that she never strayed from the path of forgiveness, kindness, and empathy. Despite being neglected and abandoned, she still has a lot of love to give to the world.

P.S. I also walk hand in hand with God. I pray that my strength will carry me through this lifetime.

Meghan's Writing Team - January 2026

Write to Meghan.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Friend/Co-worker
Location: Minnesota, USA
Issue: Family (*Abuse)

What’s going on? Meghan is a 35-year-old mother of two who has spent years in a marriage marked by emotional abuse and her husband’s long struggle with addiction. She is deeply devoted to her children and once read that it only takes one steady, loving parent for a child to grow up whole, so she made that promise to herself and has lived it with remarkable strength. Even as she faces daily belittling messages, manipulation, and repeated betrayal, she keeps trying to hold her family together with hope and loyalty. Meghan is an extraordinary mom, friend, and teacher who gives endlessly, often leaving nothing for herself. She needs encouragement to believe she deserves safety, peace, and a life where her own heart is cared for, too.

What do you love most about this girl? Meghan is pure goodness, steady, humble, and endlessly giving. She is the kind of mom who shows up every single day with intention and devotion, guided by her promise to be the one who does the right thing for her children. She is a loyal friend, a gentle presence, and someone whose kindness makes people feel safe and seen. Her moral compass is unwavering, and she holds herself to a standard of love and integrity that is rare. She is warm, empathetic, intuitive, and far stronger than she realizes.

P.S. Meghan is still living with her husband, enduring emotional abuse every day while hoping and praying he will one day get better. She feels trapped between her loyalty and the reality of how deeply she is being hurt, and she often believes she has no other choice. She rarely asks for help and minimizes her own pain because she feels she must stay strong for her children and hold onto the promise she made to be the “one steady parent” they can depend on. She needs encouragement that she deserves safety, gentleness, and a life free from fear, reminders that her worth is not defined by his behavior and that she is allowed to imagine a future where she feels protected and whole.

Write your letter and get it in the mail within one week to The Letter Project at P.O. Box 218, Kingsville, MO 64061. We’ll take it from there! You can place multiple letters in one envelope, as long as each letter/card clearly identifies the letter recipient.

Evelyn's Writing Team - January 2026

Write to Evelyn.

Age: 16-20
Requested by: Self
Location: California, USA
Issue: Mental Health

What’s going on? I have misophonia, which is an uncommon anxiety disorder. Most people don't know what it is, and it makes going through everyday life very difficult a lot of the time. It's also hard to tell people or have them relate to me, because I've often had people tease me for it, because they don't understand. It's gotten a lot worse recently because my therapist just retired, and school and college applications are hitting me very hard. I have been struggling to keep up with life lately, and some encouragement would really help.

What do you love most about this girl? I love how friendly and open I am to everyone. I always try to make friends with people around me and reach out to those who may feel left out. I am resilient and have worked very hard to get where I am today. Lastly, I always stick with something if I've committed to it, and I always celebrate others' successes with them.

P.S. Thank you so much for what you do! It really makes an impact. <3 Also, I would love to hear any of your favorite Bible verses, as I am a strong believer as well!
