“In 2023, The Letter Project sent 9,000 letters to over 450 girls and women. The Letter Project is unique in that each recipient receives a “letter bundle” from approximately 23 different writers. Our goal is to provide an uplifting resource of letters that the girl can re-read many times. The Letter Project’s writers are often introduced during a dark moment of a girl’s life and we want to wrap her in a large, community hug with our words.

TLP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (EIN 82-2121364) with an annual budget of ~$25,600.

Our costs include:
- Technology to facilitate letter writing process & requests
- Supplies (stamps, post cards, envelopes, paper, etc.)
- Nonprofit operating expenses (incorporation and company registration expenses)
- Promotional materials
- Stipend for two part-time staff

One hundred percent of The Letter Project’s funding comes from donations and 70% of the donations are received during the beginning of October around Day of The Girl Events.”
