Jessica's Writing Team - June 27

Write to Jessica.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Bestie
Location: Massachusetts, USA
Issue: Grief

What’s going on? After a long 7-year battle against cancer, Jessica’s mom is in Heaven, she passed away. Jessica was extremely close to her mom and selflessly helped her out unconditionally. Little examples of her love for the mom’s care are her mom living with her and taking family leave from her work to care full time her mom. The mom was a strong and a beautiful lady inside and out.

What do you love most about this girl? Jessica is the director of the events team at church, she’s super creative. She’s feminine, graceful, and is a considerate person. She’s dresses so nicely and has style.

P.S. She’s faith driven. Loving on her with encouraging scriptures, words, and saturation of knowing she’s being thought of plus prayed on is very important.

Write to Lily.

Age: 13-16
Requested by: Girlfriend
Location: Minnesota, USA
Issue: Mental Health

What’s going on? My girlfriend, Lily is a lesbian (obviously haha) and she often struggles with mental health and sometimes self-image. She is really insecure about her underbite even though I think it’s the most adorable thing ever, and there are days she falls in to a hole of questioning her self-worth and feels like shes not good enough, she also often feels left out in her friend groups. Her grandmother also passed away sometime in June and misses her terribly all the time.

What do you love most about this girl?I love how sweet and understanding she is. She is with no doubt one of the most selfless girls I have ever met. She has such good taste in music and outfits and is so crafty and constantly making me handmade gifts.

Amanda's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Amanda.

Age: 20-something
Requested by: Self
Location: Florida, USA
Issue: Family / Faith

What’s going on? My name is Amanda! I need prayers for healing! (emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc) My husband and I are getting an annulment. He left me in May. We agreed that the Lord never wanted us together, and that we were headed towards a divorce. However, we told one another that we wouldn't do anything in our own power. If the Lord didn't want us together, He would do something about it to free us. My husband ended up walking away from me a couple of months later. I had no job at the time and no food. I am now on the right track, but I have so much shame. I am worried that I will never be able to marry again because the Bible talks heavily about divorce. I want to honor God and only wants what He has for me. I need encouragement. I am fighting for my life right now. I desire a godly husband who will love me.

I have no idea what career to pursue. Part of me believes I should become a teacher. The other part of me is drawn to youth ministry and wanting to work at a summer camp as a full-time staff member. I have no idea what the Lord wants me to do. I need tips on what to do and where to start. I need encouragement that my situation will turn around. I feel hopeless and need to know that this isn't the end for me. I need prayer for a godly husband who will not lead me astray. I also need prayer that I will love Jesus with all of my heart. I know He is trustworthy, but I need Him to help me see that!

What do you love most about this girl? I want to follow Jesus! I want to love those around me. I want to help youth by teaching them about their identity in Christ! I also love making cards for people and want to use that gift to bless others.

P.S. I appreciate each one of you! Thank you so much! :)

Libby's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Libby.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Best Friend
Location: Wisconsin, USA
Issue: Divorce

What’s going on? Libby was with her ex-husband for 10 years and married privately, while planning their wedding. During the time they were planning the wedding, she found out he was not being faithful to her after they married. She tried everything to bring them back together and he was unwilling to attend therapy or actively participate in their relationship. He (and the other individual) gaslit her and dragged her along for months. She filed for divorce and he tried to get her to stay. She's still in therapy helping her to heal and has also found a new relationship with a wonderful man. She has come so far in the last year, I am beyond proud, however he keeps popping up causing old wounds to re-open.

What do you love most about this girl? She is the most caring person I know. She's a NICU nurse and literally saves lives. Not only is she caring, she's incredibly strong both mentally & physically. She just ran her first marathon (she said she would not let her divorce be the hardest thing she's overcome, so she signed up for a marathon and DID IT). She's a boxer and former college hockey player (that's how we met). She's a girls girl and will drop everything for her girl gang. She's one of a kind - beautiful inside and out. I am hoping these letters are a reminder for her of how loved & supported she truly is.

P.S. I am a letter writer as part of The Letter Project and know how much this means. I cannot thank each of you enough for your time in support of Libby.

Jessica's Writing Team - May 27

Write to Jessica.

Age: 30-something
Requested by: Sister
Location: Illinois, USA
Issue: Family

What’s going on? My sister Jessica is 33 years old. She has been estranged from my mother and I for nearly 4 years. Our father passed away 10 years ago, and I've seen her struggle to get herself on her feet ever since. Over the years, she's battled with drug abuse and addiction, which has only gotten worse since the pandemic. She's done some very hurtful things to people closest to her just to get by. Since our last falling out, we haven't spoken a word to each other and she's continued to block my mom out of her life too, preventing us from reuniting as a family. I am 3 years younger than her, and though we've always had our differences, I miss having my only sister in my life. I only wish the best for her and want her to succeed and to just be happy.

Recently (in November), she had a very bad scooter accident that left her with a broken jaw, broken arm and a missing tooth. I am extremely worried for her physical and mental wellbeing. I fear she might fall into a deeper struggle with drug abuse and addiction with all of the pain she's experiencing. I feel unable to talk to her, as she still has me blocked on social media and lives in another state. I want her to know that she always has a support system back home where her family is, that we love her so much and miss her tremendously.

What do you love most about this girl? My sister is one of the most creative people I know. I've always looked up to her for her cool sense of style, music, and overall taste in art and culture. She has a vibrant imagination and so many creative hobbies. She loves dance, cooking, drawing and painting and so many other art mediums that her and I have bonded doing together. She has a beautiful singing voice too. She's always been driven by passion and a desire for making beautiful things. She is beautiful. She's also intelligent, witty, and has a charming sense of humor. Any nostalgic Spongebob reference will definitely hit home for her.
